We asked Alex about his passion to beat poor posture and how The Z Chair can help young and old people alike with posture and prevent back pain.
What inspired you to design and develop The Z Chair?
“I’ve been practising as a Bristol Osteopath for more than 25 years, and from my Henleaze clinic I have noticed in the last few years an increasing number of patients coming to me with problems linked to a poor sitting posture and related issues such as back and neck pain.”
“For some time, I’ve been frustrated that many seats and chairs do not encourage good posture and in fact increase poor postural issues, exacerbate painful back conditions, and in some cases increased disablement.”
How did you start with creating The Z Chair?
“I’ve seen too many of my patients suffering with back pain, poor posture and the related health issues that accompany this problem”
“My experience as an osteopath has shown me that much of the seating available poorly serves the needs of the back, neck and spine. I wanted to create an ergonomic, affordable and robust seat to tackle the seating issue.”
What is your vision for The Z Chair?
“I want to improve the way we sit, no, actually I’d like to revolutionize how we sit. There is a simpler, better and healthier way we can all sit, and The Z Chair provides this.”
“I’m aiming to improve the health, wellness and overall quality of life for as many people as I can reach with The Z Chair. It provides a great seating option for the home, the office and even the patio. It’s really versatile.”
